The Joint Japan/World Bank Graduate Scholarship Program (JJ/WBGSP) is now accepting applications for two application windows: from January 15 to February 29, 2024 (Application Window #1) and from March 25 to May 24, 2024 (Application Window #2). This program provides graduate studies scholarships to nationals of developing countries, with a focus on individuals with professional experience and a commitment to contributing to their countries’ development efforts.

- Special Application Procedure: Nine master’s programs have a special application procedure.
- Eligibility:
- Open to men and women from eligible developing countries.
- Applicants must have professional experience and a history of supporting their countries’ development efforts.
- Scholarship Award:
- Full scholarship for development studies in one of the JJ/WBGSP participating master’s programs.
- Covers full tuition and mandatory fees, a monthly living stipend, health insurance, round-trip airfare, and travel allowance.
- Program Requirement:
- After completing the program, JJ/WBGSP scholars must return to their home countries to apply their new skills to social and economic development.

- The JJ/WBGSP application form link will be communicated only to shortlisted candidates by participating universities.
- Complete applications, including the form and two professional references, must be submitted online by 12:00 pm EST on February 29, 2024 (Window #1) and May 24, 2024 (Window #2).
- Applicant Criteria:
- National of an eligible developing country.
- Not holding dual citizenship of a developed country.
- Hold a bachelor’s degree earned at least 3 years prior to the application deadline.
- Have 3 years or more of paid professional experience in a development-related area after earning a bachelor’s degree.
- Unconditionally accepted to enroll in one of the JJ/WBGSP participating master’s programs for the upcoming academic year by the application deadline.
- Not a World Bank Group staff member or relative of a WBG staff member.
